Brother in Law - this story is for you cause I know you will love to call Mr. M and abuse him about this.
Running the story back a bit . . .
Mr. M, in an absolute fit of absentmindness Civic Mindedness volunteered for our local area planning board a few months ago.
Sadly, we have had 3 recent traffic deaths on one of our major thoroughfares. A major action item for the planning board has been to get our fair city to install fancy signage that will measure the speed of oncoming traffic and flash warnings if a car is speeding.
Glory be, today was the day! Mr. M attended all gussied up in his nice slacks and a lovely silk tie. I put JJ in the stroller and walked on down. JJ packed along Molly, her stuffed bear who is currently sporting one of her diapers.
And so it went. We all get there, the Councilman flips the switch and the TV crews start filming.
JJ is out of her stroller and I am chasing her up and down the side walk. TV crews keep filming to get enough footage to make a nice 5 second spot. Eventually everyone shakes hands and goes on about their day.
Tonight Joe showed the the film clip. Nice. you can see me chasing baby girl down the sidewalk in the background. And there is a LOVELY close up of Mr. M standing proudly under our new speeding sign. He thought he was holding JJ. But he is not.
The close up very clearly shows a dignified middle aged man in a nice shirt and tie holding Molly the stuffed teddybear with a size five toddler diaper up to her armpits.
I haven't laughed that hard in many years.
There has got to be a way to get a digital clip of that TV spot. You Tube here we come.
