Fw: Josie LiNI update - January 2015

Update

Doc just came out. No major changes in the important PH numbers. Still systemic pressures and PVR 8 to 9. But her diastolic side of the beat has improved quite a bit. Number will be sent up to the Stanford PH specialist and we can discuss with him when he is able.

Summary. Holding her own and hanging. Very big heart but a really strong one too

.............................

Well, it is time for Josie's big annual heart cath test.

This test is something we have done a few times now, and she does pretty well with it, but it is under anesthesia, and they actually run instruments into the chambers of the heart, so I don't want to be too casual about it.

The results will be sent up to Stanford, so it will be a while until we hear the final evaluation. We will do an in person trip to Stanford at the end of March as well.

In day to day news Josie is doing really well. In a lot of ways the central line works very well.

This morning started with a game of hopscotch on the back patio and was followed by a birthday party and ice skating. Josie manages to be very active in spite of it all

And Ms. Josie is learning to read as well. This is very exciting news, especially to Josie. She still needs speech therapy, but everyone thinks reading will be really helpful.

Prayers and good thoughts for:

  • Please pray that the area where the central line enters Josie's chest wall will heal up. It never looks really good, and that is a danger area for infection.
  • That the sedated test goes very well and we get to go hone the same day.
  • And that Josie's heart and lungs have both made good progress in healing up.

Thank you all!
