Give a teddy bear roar for four

I had PLANS  for JJ's Birthday.

I was thinking we would make it low stress and do a nice family thing at a local amusement park.

JJ had her own plans. Very definite plans.  Guess who got what she wanted.

We had a Teddy Bear Picnic Birthday party.

We invited 9 girls from her preschool.  As is traditional for these things the guest list grew from two acceptances to 6 children on the way shortly before the event.
We set up with tables for moms and a little table for the little kids.  Teddy bears and dolls had their own spot, their own cookies and honey for dessert..

Before I could look twice the girls had drenched the Stroopenwoofel cookies with honey and fed them to their mom's - and even more to themselves.!

We had snacks and sandwiches first, then games.  Beach Ball VolleyBall was a BIG hit.  The surprise hit however was a balloon pump up gadget.  The kids could use it to blow up their own balloons and were lining up to do so.

JJ got to pick the cake too, and Tinkerbell was a big hit.

We asked for no gifts, but of course a couple showed up- and the special one was a "grown up" doll from LauLau with long long hair.  LauLau broke out the sewing machine and made a fantastic doll jacket and capri set from some scrap material.  JJ was thrilled, and I was so touched.  She did the same for us when we were little.

The party lasted a prompt 1.5 hours.  We had an excellent time.
My feet hurt for the next 2 days.  That was a LOT of running around.
