Dear Friends:
Thank you so much for your continued prayers!
Josie just had a three month checkup at our local Children's Hospital. In small ways things look better. During her heart repair they left a small hole between the chambers of her heart to help them judge how the pressures inside her heart were doing. The direction of flow (shunting) between the chambers is mostly in the correct direction, so that is good.
It is still very difficult to get a reading on the actual pressures in Josie's heart - the Echo's say one thing, the shunting says something different that is not quite as scary high. That being said, the pressures in her heart are still too high. Happily Josie's heart is still doing very well.
We will be going to Lucille Packard /Stanford in December for a look /see. I think there will be another heart catherization in January to measure exactly where Josie's heart pressures really stand.
Day to day - Josie is having a blast! She has more energy for everything including learning and playing. We have her in preschool 3 days a week and she is learning a lot!
Her allergic reactions to her medication set up is still our biggest challenge day to day. We are still working with an allergist to try and find an allergy medicine mix that works for her. Stopping the PH medicine that is causing the problem is not really an option.
Please continue to keep us in prayer. Her whole team needs wisdom to deal with her significant allergy problems.
Even more importantly, just how much her lungs will be able to heal is still an open question.
Pray her lungs will heal completely and her heart will stay strong! We would all love for the nasty meds to become a thing of the past.
And dear friends - please pray for Sarah and her daughter Naya. Like Josie, Naya came home from China with much more going on then the Chinese medical reports showed. Sarah and the Doctors are working on a final medial plan for Naya and need wisdom!
