Quick update on Ms Josie

I owe this blog a post on Josie's Make A Wish trip (which was very nice and will get that done).

But for now the big question of the day is "how is Ms Josie doing?"

And the answer seems to be . . .  Surprisingly enough she is doing pretty well.

Josie came down with a bad bug during her make a wish trip and came home with a fever and cough

She was seemingly getting better but so very slowly.  This week we took her to a couple different doctor appointments.  She was still spiking a temperature but otherwise looked pretty good

But we could see her ability to keep her oxygen saturation in her blood high enough wa s decreasing every day

I had been communicating with thE members of Josie's medical team and last night th
E PH specialists gave us a reality dose.  "Whatever the cause this was not good for her.  Take her to the local children's hospital"

So here we are at the local Children's Hospital. A fluid filled lung - just one side.   Likely pneumonia. Maybe mucous plugs causing some lung collapse

And every darn doc who walks in here says "but she looks sooo good".  Which is why this did not get caught faster.  She looks much healthier than her X-ray

In fact she was playing hopscotch on the vinyl square floor.  O2 sats in the 70s and 80s.  Crazy

JJ came by after school and brought Josie a little toy mail truck as a gift

Tomorrow will tell us a lot about how easy - or hard- treating this will be.

I will say it is very nice to be able to use a hospital that is so close by
