Looking East and West

A quick update from Guanzhaou (or however you spell it)

Hi all

Internet service is in 15 minute increments here and is expensive so I'll make it quick

We traveled late last nite, got in around 11.  JJ did not sleep despite the Benedryl and Motrin so she was a wreck, and she made sure we are too.

Still, we are at the beautiful White Swan (yup, 5 star and lovely) in the most lovely of french colonial islands on the Pearl River.  could not ask for more picture perfect.  It looks like a bit of  cross between New Orleans and Europe - No photos, I'll have to take a good one or two and post.

We met some friends who live only a few miles away.  Different agency, different referral month, but somehow the schedules all came together so we got to have breakfast and introduce the girls to one another.

There is another 'Piao' here - a little boy from Hunan.  In his case Piao means tiger, translation is 'little tiger'.

The White Swan is actually adoption central here, so there are crying screaming babies and toddlers everywhere.  Very atsmopheric.

We did the immigration medical exam and will do more Visa paperwork today, so no rest for Mamma and Babba.

JJ was declared very healthy, and only cried when the mean lady Dr. made us take off her sox and pants.  The indignity.  Bonus experience - the stores here lend strollers and JJ thinks they are the BOMB.   This will be a big break for everyones back.

I attatched a couple photos. Enjoy
