May Medical Update on Josie LiNi

We saw the cardiologist today.  We spent the usual 3 hours on Echo-cardiograms and  appointments - and the verdict is   . . . .   No change.

Well, stable is better than getting worse, but obviously we would have preferred to hear -" wowa - look how much better she is".

It is a good sign that her energy and activity level are up - that is very positive.

And one of the medical mysteries that has been making Mom crazy may have been solved.  Josie, at 4.5 years old or so has lost her bottom two front teeth - and is definitely sprouting her 6 year molars.

I mentioned it to the Cardiologist who hemmed and hawed a bit  - then remembered that ONE of the meds Josie is on can cause premature tooth eruption.  He has never seen it till now, but it sure fits.  He can't remember which med, so he will be doing a bit of research for us.

Praying friends keep praying for Josie's pulmonary hypertension to heal up!

In (somewhat) related news we have an IEP meeting with Josie's team tomorrow.  Her speech development has definitely been impacted by her rough start and I do believe we need to be looking a little harder at just what is going on.  We will need wisdom and insight - US teams don't often see orphanage impacts on development so we all need to take a look at what needs to happen next for her.

Tricky business, sorting the delays out. Glad that Josie is stable and she is continuing to progress developmentally.

Thanks Jennifer. I have trouble with the patience part!
