Looking East and West

Like cold water to a weary soul, so is good news from a distant land. Proverbs 25:25

The long way back

First the good news.

Every day Josie manages to get stronger and better.
She is sitting and standing under her own power (and bored and WAY hungry too)
They will evaluate her to see if she can have solid food today.

The tough news . . . at least 5-7 more days in ICU.  Then another 3 days or so in a step down ward.
Arrgh.  We both really want to go home.  Right now!

This is because Josie is so sensitive to changes in medications that they are very slowly (very very slowly)moving her medications up and down to what she will go home with.

In addition she goes home with one new drug I was really really hoping we did not need - not because it is a bad drug, but because it is a real pain in the neck to administer as often as it is needed.

Other than that I am sill sleeping in the hospital.  It would be nice if we can get a space at Ronald McDonald house, but I don't know it that will happen or not.

Prayers for strength and for healing and that we could move this along.

Dear God, We rejoice with this family in celebrating Your restorative power. We ask for Your guidance in all areas of Josie's recovery and rehab and give Kim & Joe focus and patience to attend to her many needs. May JJ just take a step back and realize that she has a very sick sister who requires her parents' attention. We place our trust in You. Amen.
